TWO GROUPS

GROUP A: 9-11*

*younger ages with skill levels that match the 12+ age group may be invited to select hours of training in group B.

Accepting 25 members only < THIS MEANS, HELLA PERSONALIZED ATTENTION FOR 4 STRAIGHT DAYS.

  • 2+ years of ballet experience required

  • submit photos of :*

    • First arabesque

    • battement tendu in a la second, 

    • profile view of grand plié in first position at the barre

*if you are an MDA regular member you don't need to submit photos, we know what to do with you:)


GROUP B: 12+*

*younger ages with skill levels that match the 12+ age group may be invited to select hours of training in group B.

The Training:

The 4-Day blitz training is for male dancers who want a competitive edge before entering the spring season or for those who want to a fast bump in skill enhancement. And the opportunity to get the most specialized male dancer training with other male dancers from around the county. 

Training Hours: 

10am - 6pm daily Group A

10am-4:30pm daily Group B

Bryce Lee is originally from Missouri and grew up in Orange County, California. He began dancing at 12 years old at Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy, and is currently a Demi-soloist with Colorado Ballet. He has trained at some of the most prestigious programs in the nation including ABT, Boston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and School of American Ballet. Bryce co-founded Male Dancer Academy in 2020 after seeing a need for male dancers to get essential training they may not be able to find locally.

 

Ryan Lenkey is originally from Wheeling, West Virginia and is currently a company member at State Street Ballet. Starting dance at 9 years old, he has trained in all forms of dance and has attended Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, Boston Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Ballet West. Ryan is a student of kinesiology and applies movement sciences to his teaching practices.

 

Gary Sevani is an avid arts enthusiast and international teacher. He is the artistic director of Synthesis Performing arts, which provides dance education for students and adults. He specializes in Russian and American styles of ballet, as well as contemporary and traditional folk dances. He graduated from College of Classical Dance in Russia and received a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from State Institute of Performing Arts in Moscow, Russia. Gary continues to work with local industry artists and producers of music entertainment.

 

Robert Tsai received his undergraduate degrees in Communication Theory, Dance Performance, and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. As a lover of movement, Rob’s entrance into dance began with breakin’ and hip-hop culture and eventually led to studying classical modern dance techniques. Rob danced professionally in the Los Angeles commercial industry for 8 years prior to pursuing physical therapy.  Rob is passionate about creating environments and learning opportunities for dancers to explore their physical capabilities. His company, DANCE PREHAB, supports the local dance community across all age ranges from youth, adolescent, collegiate, and adult movers via physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and injury risk reduction education.

 

Sam McReynolds is an LA-based dance artist and choreographer originally from St. Louis, MO, where he received his BFA in Dance at Lindenwood University. He has worked with many of the dance industries leaders in hip hop and contemporary as well as deepening his understanding of dance greatly through his experience exploring the movement language known as “Gaga” here in the U.S. and in Tel Aviv, Israel. Since moving to LA in 2016, he has danced for several notable choreographers and dance companies, such as Sarah Elgart / Arrogant Elbow, Brian Friedman, Marguerite Derricks, No)one. Art House, Ate9 Dance Company, WHYTEBERG, The TL Collective, Dolly Sfeir, Bryan Arias, and more. Sam also has a great passion for choreographing and has presented live works in LA at CONGRESS: Legalize Dance, Club Jete, LAVENDER, and Stage & Screen Show. As an educator, he currently teaches Contemporary at Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy, and has served as a substitute professor at Loyola Marymount University.

 

Tate Lee is originally from Mission Viejo, California and was a dancer with Colorado ballet before joining Los Angeles Ballet in 2021. He has trained with Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet, Boston Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Colorado Ballet. In recent years he has refined his expertise in weight and calisthenics training.
